Januzaj : CR7 my role model for Manchester United success

Posted by TB  | No comments

Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj says that he is using former Red Devils hero Cristiano Ronaldo as a model for his development.

Since making his United debut against Sunderland as an 18-year old earlier in the season, the Belgian is now regarded as one of the brightest prospects in world football and sees the Real Madrid superstar as the example to follow.

Januzaj cites the Portuguese's commitment to physical training in the gym as a particular lesson as he attempts to become stronger on the ball.

"I watch [Ronaldo] a lot and try to do the same things that he does," the youngster told Inside United. "He is a very good player.

"I always look at him and watch his games as well and try do what he is doing and remember what he did at Manchester United.

"I have to work hard in the gym like he did because, when he came here, he wasn't strong but, after a year or so, he became really strong and could push people away. I'm getting a bit stronger now due to the gym work."

Collins blasts 'cheating' Januzaj over dive

Posted by TB  | No comments

West Ham defender James Collins has accused Adnan Januzaj of "cheating", after the Manchester United midfielder was booked for diving at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Red Devils starlet was shown a yellow card for simulation after throwing himself to the ground with the 30-year-old centre-half in close proximity.

The 18-year-old was warned by his manager David Moyes not to let diving "creep into his play" and Collins is confident the Belgian-born youngster will heed that advice.

However, the Wales international was nontheless unequivocal in his view of the incident with Januzaj.

"It's cheating, basically," Collins told Sky Sports News.

"I don't like to see it in the game. He probably thinks I am going to stick my leg out and he's probably already thinking about going over.

"Obviously he's taken a dive. He's a young lad, a great player, I'm sure he will learn.

"David Moyes seems to have this conversation quite a lot at his club with Ashley Young.

"It happens in football. He (Januzaj) is a great player and played very well at the weekend. He's learning the game and if he carries on playing the way he is, he is going to be a top-drawer player."
