Nigel de Jong is confident that Keisuke Honda will be a roaring success at AC Milan.
The Serie A side announced earlier this month that the attacking midfielder will leave CSKA Moscow for Milan on a free transfer come January and De Jong believes his new team-mate will prove to be a shrewd signing for the Rossoneri.
"I met Keisuke Honda about two weeks ago in a friendly between Holland and Japan and I have to say he’s a strong player," De Jong said on Milan's official Google+ account.
"He has a great left foot and I think he’ll do well with Milan.
"He’ll be welcome here. He can score and he’ll be important for us."
The 27-year-old Japan international started his professional career at Nagoya Grampus and also wore the VVV jersey before joining CSKA in January 2010.
Honda has signed a contract until June 2017 with Milan, who face Inter in Serie A on Sunday evening.
