Nacho Fernandez has praised the form of Diego Lopez following another top-class performance from the Real Madrid keeper in the 2-2 draw with Villarreal on Saturday.
Lopez has been a regular feature between the posts for los Merengues this season and has been preferred to Iker Casillas in all four of his side's La Liga fixtures so far.
While he was disappointed to leave with just one point, Nacho was quick to praise the performance of the shot-stopper in the game at El Madrigal, whilst also reserving a special mention for Madrid debutants Asier Illarramendi and Gareth Bale.
"He is a great goalkeeper and it is showing," the 23-year-old defender told AS.
"It was a very intense game. We knew they were looking to come forward. Both teams gave it everything.
"Both teams had chances and it was a shame not to get the win. But Bale and Illarramendi did a great job and helped the team."
